Biography
The whole work of Denys Molerio Peña is essentially a discourse on the nature of what is and isn’t portraiture. The pervasive theme of coldness and other interwoven elements are symbolic of our tendency to put up smokescreens of identity. Search for answers to questions about the degeneration of our essential being it is an important point. The figures and their environments are conjoined in various relationships, each a specific narrative. These pieces refer to our endless pursuit to superficially restructure ourselves beyond the natural realm.
A member of the Cuban National Union of Visual Artists. He was a participant in the international (X and XI) Biennale in Havana where he had his own exhibitions “ Arquitectura de la Vida” in 2009 and personal show “ Habits” in 2012. Graduated with honors from San Alejandro Academy of Fine Arts and Institute Superior of Arts (ISA) in Havana. In his achievement he has many national and international exhibitions; e.g “Living room of Southeast “ Lyon, France in the “Gallery Maison Dauphins” Lyon, France. He took part in the “Urban Rumor” Paris, France, “ Contemporary Cuban Painting” Dominican Republic, “Theory of Purity” Biegas Museum, Warsaw, Poland. “Shot“ IX International Colloquy of Digital Art and Photography, Havana, Cuba. His works are in private collections in Canada, France, USA, Spain, Dominican Republic, Germany, Cuba, Poland.
